We are Pauline and Wim Opmeer. We have been working together as Opmeer Reports since 2010. We specialise in photography and videography about sustainable development, micro-finance and social entrepreneurs, by visualising the stories of farmers, entrepreneurs and community projects in developing countries.
In the past six years we have worked in 40 countries where we visualised around 230 sustainable development projects and 1,000 personal stories in Africa, Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America. In October 2016 we again started travelling with our own 4x4 mobile home, which makes our itinerary very flexible and makes it much easier to reach remote places.
We have produced photo reports, videos, written articles, our own digital magazine and multimedia presentations. Our goal and that of our clients is to present the effects of sustainable development to as many people as possible. Seeing that even our longest (7 minutes) video has been watched 3,000 times we gather we have achieved that purpose.
We work for organisations and companies like Oikocredit International, Rabobank Foundation, PUM, FMO, IDH Sustainable Trade, ASN, Simon Levelt, Care, Triodos, Actionaid, Nature's Pride, Triple Jump, Lendahand, VLIR and Bio. In addition we published 11 editions of the digital magazine Eyes Wide Open. Besides assignments, we recently started an independent project: How about Gender Equality.
After working in Africa, India, Ecuador, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Eastern Europe for the past year, we have been working in Latin America again. In the period from January to April 2017 we are working on assignments in the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia and Indonesia. In May 2017 we will continue in Brazil, going north via Paraguay and Bolivia (see also 'where').
